“5 Dog Training Warning Signs You Need to Know -Voice German Dog Training Commands”

I’ve used Dog Training Now for my 3 dogs and each time was a different, amazing experience. All dogs have different strengths and struggles and they nailed them all. The trainers are all fantastic, you feel like they’re family once you’re done and can always go back to them with questions and advise. My dogs love to go back to visit and feel like they’re at home. I recommend them all the time.

The best obedience course for your dog should really be determined by the right overall fit. You should consider the price, location, quality and content of the course, and your overall impression of the instructor. References can also be helpful in terms of determining which course is right for you.

That’s why “speak” training is a little different from the other commands. You’ll incorporate the verbal command from the very beginning. That way, the dog doesn’t think you’re praising him for his natural behavior.

Use a lead or tether. One of the best ways to make sure your dog stays with you so you can keep an eye on him is to attach his lead to your belt or tether him to your chair if you are working at home. If your puppy is roaming freely, chances are you won’t see him show those early warning signs of needing to go outside.

“DO NOT THINK THE PROGRAM WILL BE THE SILVER BULLET AND DO THE WORK FOR YOU. No effective dog training program will ever cite itself in that way. 80% of the work will need to be done by you, and rightly so: the CTC will lay the foundation for your dog to be trained. YOU must continue the work.”  (See Full Review on Google+)

Lindsay says of this study, “Schilder and Van der Borg (2004) have published a report of disturbing findings regarding the short-term and long- term effects of shock used in the context of working dogs that is destined to become a source of significant controversy … The absence of reduced drive or behavioral suppression with respect to critical activities associated with shock (e.g., bite work) makes one skeptical about the lasting adverse effects the authors claim to document. Although they offer no substantive evidence of trauma or harm to dogs, they provide loads of speculation, anecdotes, insinuations of gender and educational inadequacies, and derogatory comments regarding the motivation and competence of IPO trainers in its place.” [64]

Be unpredictable! Dogs are pretty good at figuring out when you have treats and when you don’t. To be unpredictable, have treats when you don’t look like you do. Don’t always use a bait bag and/or use things like sealed jars of baby food hidden in your pocket.

Coming when called is one of the most important skills for your dog to have on lock, because it can keep her safe in potentially dangerous situations. No matter what they’re leaving behind, coming to you should be the best thing that happens to them all day!

Encourage him to enter the crate. Once you’ve made the crate an inviting space, use treats to lure him inside. At first, place some outside the door so he can explore the exterior of the crate. Then, place treats just inside the door, so he will poke his head in to retrieve them. As he grows more comfortable, place the treats further and further inside the crate.

Our 6 year old Boxer/Terrier mix, Kali, was being aggressive towards other dogs and even people at times. Lots of barking, growling and we were unable to calm her down once she got too excited or overstimulated.  We were unable to even take her on walks due to her want to go after other dogs every time we saw one. She would pull on the leash, whine, bark, growl and was very hard to control even with a choke collar, or harness.

Marcus, Chris and Mat excelled at teaching Missy to heel…. read more
